Hi, I’m Jess. I help leaders, teams and businesses across South Australia understand the human side of work — the emotions, behaviours and patterns that shape how people lead, communicate, relate and respond under pressure.


After years working in the rural sector, mining, consulting in agronomy and working in sales, one thing became clear: my workplace experience was always defined by the health of the relationships and the environment around me. How leadership showed up, how supported I felt, and whether I felt heard, valued and understood among co-workers shaped the quality of my day — my motivation, my engagement and my sense of belonging at work.

And when I stepped into business ownership and leadership myself, I saw it from the other side too: the more confident, clear-minded, emotionally steady, focussed, grounded and capable I felt within myself, the better I led — and the better I felt in life.

When people feel mentally and emotionally steady, supported and understood — and have the awareness to recognise their own patterns — everything changes. Communication improves, challenges feel more manageable, productivity grows, and people bring a healthier version of themselves to work and home.

With psychosocial safety now a workplace priority in South Australia, leaders can’t afford to overlook the emotional and relational dynamics driving their team’s performance and wellbeing.

This is where my work comes in — helping businesses understand what sits beneath communication breakdowns, disengagement and pressure, and equipping leaders and teams with the practical tools to create healthier, safer and more connected team environments.

This is the human side of WHS — and where meaningful change shows up in reduced psychosocial risks and healthier everyday team behaviours.

What I Do

I coach and facilitate leaders, individuals and teams in understanding the emotional and behavioural patterns driving their communication, relationships and performance.

What makes my work different is the way horse-led experiential learning combined with practical behavioural tools to create deeper personal growth. Horses read energy, intention and behaviour with absolute honesty — offering clear, immediate feedback that traditional training can’t provide.

Their responses reveal blind spots in confidence, presence, boundaries, clarity, trust and communication. They show people how they lead, how they relate, and how they respond through uncertain situations — offering insight that is impossible to ignore and impossible to unsee.

Jess Keenan is a dynamic facilitator and the founder of Leading Change Experiences, dedicated to developing conscious leaders and individuals and and building connected, emotionally and behaviourally intelligent teams that optimise their time and energy. Jess is a devoted mother and leading the way in human development through equine-led experiences. She is passionate about the human side of leadership—where self-awareness, emotional fitness, communication, and people skills drive real transformation.

With a background spanning corporate agriculture, family farm businesses, direct sales, and social-emotional development programs, Jess understands the complexities of leadership in people-driven environments where change and uncertainty are constant. She specialises in bridging communication gaps, developing emotionally mature team cultures, and helping leaders and staff build radical self responsibility to navigate evolving challenges and "unknowns" with calm confidence.

Jess’s leadership facilitation is personal, real, human — and refreshingly different.

Her approach to leadership and personal development is rooted in lived experience, not just theory. Jess has transversed a significant life challenge, including life in a partnership impacted by alcohol misuse, mental ill-health, bankruptcy and suicide attempts.

What she brings into every room is a powerful mix of humility, emotional depth, and a genuine love for human connection.
